Roeselare City

In Roeselare, a city in West Flanders, a water storage facility of 480 m³ was built to collect water for reuse. A smart guiding system allows the water to infiltrate the soil. This means the capacity of the storage facility is optimally used for reuse and retention during heavy rainfall.
This system was realised in collaboration with Aquafin and the city of Roeselare.

The water storage system, with a capacity of approximately 400 m³, is fed by rainwater that is harvested from the roofs of several buildings on the premises.
The water is stored for irrigation purposes, among other things.
If rain is forecast, the water is discharged via infiltration pipes running under a nearby football field.
