Inauguration self closing flood barrier Spakenburg

 

After the installation of a mobile flood barrier, the Dutch fishing village of Spakenburg on the shores of lake Eems is now protected against severe north-westerly storms. This flood barrier, a worldwide first, was designed in Schoten. We can do the exact same thing on the quays of the river Scheldt in Antwerp’ states Anthony Fémont of Aggéres Flood Solutions. The flood barrier in Spakenburg was officially inaugurated under enormous public interest. The media were also present in force.
